Second homicide in Syracuse in two days
Syracuse Police at 644 Catherine Street, near St. Joseph's Hospital on Friday night. A 30 year old man, shot, has died in a double shooting.
A South Carolina man is Syracuse's latest homicide victim. 30 year old Walter Belle has died at Upstate University Hospital, after being shot in the back while in front of 644 Catherine Street, near St. Joseph's Hospital, Friday night about 8:25pm. Belle was reportedly shot in the back. A second man, 20 years old, was also shot but has minor injuries.
Syracuse Police say it's an active and ongoing investigation, and ask anyone with information to call them at 442-5222.
It's their second homicide investigation in as many days. On Friday morning, Jerry Mack was killed along West Kennedy Street, by three men who broke into his home---robbery is believed the motive. The attack was witnessed by the victim's 7 year old son.
