SYRACUSE -- A Syracuse Police unit was patrolling near Central Village Housing Complex near the 500 block of Oakwood Ave. late last night when they heard “shots fired" in the area.

Officers say they caught 19-year-old Charleston Paige, of Syracuse, running from the scene.

After investigating the area, police say they found a loaded 9 mm semi-automatic handgun in the area where Paige was running from.

Paige was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and criminal use of a firearm.

Paige was taken to the Justice Center where he is set to be arraigned Saturday in Syracuse City Court.
