SYRACUSE -- Following Monday night's final debate between President Barack Obama and his Republican challenger, Mitt Romney, which focused on foreign policy Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner issued the following statement:

"Tonight President Obama draws a stark contrast between his opponent in foreign policy. Barack Obama killed Osama bin Laden, the number one enemy of America in the world. He has ended the War in Iraq and started a timeline for withdrawing our troops from Afghanistan. The President has stood up to China and is fighting to end unfair trade practices that hurt workers (in) the City of Syracuse and across the United States. Mitt Romney, the Outsourcer in Chief, wants to return the United States to the "attack first ask questions later" foreign policy and inflate our deficit with 2 trillion extra dollars in defense spending that the Pentagon didn't even ask for. Our national security is too important to let someone with no international or foreign policy experience be at the helm of the world's strongest fighting force and this is why we need to re-elect President Obama."
