Syracuse police investigating Merriman Ave. shooting

SYRACUSE -- The Syracuse Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened on Monday in the 300 block of Merriman Avenue.  Two people were shot.

According to the Syracuse Police, multiple calls came in for shots being fired in the Merriman Avenue area.

The first victim was 23-year-old Gregory M. Darrain of Syracuse.  He was shot in the upper left thigh and went to Upstate University Hospital in a private vehicle.  

Just moments after this incident, the police were called to 630 Gifford Street for another victim with a gunshot wound to the leg.

This victim was 20-year-old Demetrius Gilbert, also of Syracuse.

Both were uncooperative with detectives.
