SYRACUSE -- Construction delayed from last week got underway Friday morning after a weeklong delay.

Interstate 690 eastbound has closed for bridge repairs from the I-81 Interchange to Teall Avenue.  The construction is scheduled to be completed Monday afternoon. The Geddes Street and McBride Street on-ramps will be closed during this time.

The State Department of Transportation is recommending all eastbound traffic entering the City of Syracuse from the west exit at West Street, West Genesee Street, or I-81 southbound.

This construction project was supposed to take place last weekend, but the DOT delayed the construction because of expected congestion from the SU football game on October 19.
