ROME-NY -- Police in Rome are investigating the robbery of a pizza delivery man that occurred on Wednesday night in the 800 block of Croton Street.
According to the Rome Police Department, the victim attempted to make a food delivery on Croton Street and was approached by an unknown man who said that he had a gun and demanded the victim's money, cell phone and car keys. After he got those items, the suspect stole the victim's car and left the area.
The suspect is described as a black man between the ages of 20 and 25.
The victim went to a nearby home and called the police once the suspect was out of sight.
The car was found later in the day, abandoned near the intersection of Bloomfield Street and North George Street in Rome.
The victim did not suffer any injuries.
