SYRACUSE -- Mayor Stephanie Miner launched a Twitter account for the City of Syracuse today and this afternoon tweeted "“One small Tweet from a Mayor, one giant leap for the City of Syracuse. Let the conversation begin - Mayor Miner.”
Twitter users can follow updates and breaking news from the City of Syracuse under the Twitter handle @Syracuse1848. All tweets will be directed from the Office of the Mayor.
The city is planning to use the social media site to post press releases, photos of city events, up to the minute updates on breaking news and street closures and emergency notifications.
