SYRACUSE -- The Syracuse Police Department is investigating an attempted armed robbery that happened at about 8:00 on Monday night.

Police say that a white man in his mid 20's, about 5'9" and 150 pounds with brown hair and a goatee, walked into the Sunoco at 800 Wolf Street and handed the clerk a note demanding money.  The suspect also indicated that he had a weapon.  When the clerk immediately picked up the phone to call 9-1-1, the suspect ran off on foot and was last seen running south on Pennsylvania Avenue.

Anyone with information is being asked to call the Syracuse Police at 315-442-5222.
