Syracuse's Salvation Army is on standy to help, if needed, in the giant relief effort after Hurricane Sandy.
The Salvation Army is already setting up feeding stations from North Carolina, up the Atlantic Seaboard to the New York City area.  Major George Polarek, who oversees the operation in the Syracuse Area, says Army facilities in communities are also opening their doors to anyone who wants to come in to rest and recharge.

Major Polarek says that in addition to feeding programs, many of which are located in Red Cross shelters, the Salvation Army's mobile canteens from this area are also being moved to hard-hit coastal areas.

Monetary donations are also being accepted for storm relief, online or at 1-8000-SAL-ARMY
