SYRACUSE -- Rape charges against a Syracuse man were dropped.

An Onondaga County Grand Jury dropped the charges against 32-year-old David Carroll, of 120 McLennan Avenue.

He was originally charged with rape, predatory sexual assault, attempted criminal sex act, burglary and criminal possession of a weapon. He was accused of breaking into a 42-year-old woman's home on Syracuse's north side in July and raping her.

Prosecutors say the alleged victim decided not to testify at the trial. The grand jury later dismissed the charges.
