Governor Andrew Cuomo is directing that flags on all state government buildings be flown at half-staff on Tuesday, November 6 in honor of a fallen Marine.

Cpl. Alex Domion of Richfield Springs Marine died in Helmand Province, Afghanistan on October 31, 2012 as a result of a non-combat related incident.

Domion was assigned to the 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force. The battalion is based at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

In a press release issued Friday, Governor Cuomo said, "I join with all fellow New Yorkers in mourning the loss of Cpl. Domion. New York sends its deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and fellow Marines. As we honor his service and sacrifice, we are grateful for his dedication to our nation."
