LIVERPOOL -- It appears Liverpool School superintendent Dr. Richard Johns is on his way out. The board of education Monday evening had this item on its agenda: Authorization of RFQ - For position of Superintendent. Approving the RFQ would allow the district to contract with an outside company that speciailzes in finding qualified candidates for school system leadership positions.

No one at Monday's board meeting would address the question of why Dr. John's is being replaced. Dr. John's arrived just as the meeting was starting and was not available to comment. He was hired by Liverpool  in 2009. At the time Johns was the head of Webutuck Central School District in Amenia, NY in Dutchess County.

CNYcentral placed a call to Dr. Johns Monday afternoon, but did not hear back. A CNYcentral reporter at the Monday night board meeting was told that the school board president was the only person speaking for the district on this issue, and that person was not going to say anything specific about Dr. Johns employment.
