SYRACUSE -- Two Syracuse teens have been charged in connection to an assault on October 13th, according to Onondaga County Sheriffs.

Gajuan L. Richardson, 16, is accused of stabbing 19 year-old Samuel Matos multiple times in the parking lot of the VFW Post on Lemoyne Avenue.

After receiving a disturbance call, sheriff’s deputies arrived at the VFW at about 1 a.m. and saw several cars speeding out of the parking lot.

Witnesses told deputies that a large fight had broken out and someone had fired a gun outside the VFW.

There were no victims on the scene, but deputies were told about the stabbing of Matos.

He was admitted to St. Joseph’s Hospital in stable condition.

An investigation led deputies to Richardson, as well as 19 year-old Charleston Paige as the person with the handgun.

Paige was charged with criminal use of a firearm in the 2nd degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the 2nd degree and reckless endangerment in the 1st degree.

Both Richardson and Paige were arraigned in Town of Salina court and are being held in lieu of $10,000 cash or bond and $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond respectively.

The two will return to court on November 14th.
