GENESEO (AP) -- Members of a western New York college's volleyball team have accepted a plea agreement for a hazing incident that resulted in their season being canceled.

Rochester media outlets report that eight students at the State University of New York at Geneseo were in Geneseo Village Court Tuesday to accept the plea terms from a judge who called their actions "degrading and life-threatening."

Eleven current and former members of the women's volleyball team were charged with hazing six freshmen teammate during an off-campus party in September. Police say the freshmen were handcuffed, blindfolded and forced to drink large amounts of vodka.

The other three students will also be offered the plea agreement.

The agreement includes an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal, two speaking engagements at a local high school and community service.
