SYRACUSE -- A one car, rollover accident snapped a utility pole in two and sent the driver to the hospital, according to the Syracuse Police Department.

The accident happened on East Genesee Street, between Westcott Street and Columbus Avenue.

Syracuse Police say the driver of the vehicle-a small Hyundai SUV-was taken to the hospital but injuries or condition were not known.

National Grid has a crew on the scene repairing the pole.  East Genesee Street is closed in both directions but National Grid said that it should be re-opened by 8 AM.
