SYRACUSE -- Santa's arrival to Clinton Square signaled the beginning of the countdown. Just after 7:00 p.m. Friday evening, the Mayor was joined by Santa and Mrs. Claus along with the police and fire chiefs for the lighting of the Christmas tree. The tree lighting in Syracuse dates back to 1913.
