BINGHAMTON (AP) -- An organization of Jewish students at an upstate New York college is trying to put a new spin on a world record.

The Chabad Center for Jewish Student Life at Binghamton University hopes to get enough people together Monday evening to simultaneously spin more than 700 dreidels, the four-sided top and traditional Hanukkah diversion, and break a Guinness World Record.

Guinness says the current record is 734 dreidels spinning at once for at least 10 seconds, a mark set by a United Synagogue Youth group in Philadelphia last December.

If they succeed, the Binghamton organizers will have to provide photos, video and other documentation for review by Guinness before the record is changed.
