BALDWINSVILLE -- A Baldwinsville man has pleaded guilty to murdering his wife.

67-year-old Robert Burger admitted in Onondaga County Court Monday morning to killing his wife, 56-year-old Rebecca Dethlefs.

She was found dead at the Village Green Apartment building in Van Buren in late December 2011 when workers were investigating a bad smell. Autopsy results show she died of blunt force trauma to the head.

Burger previously served 28 years in prison for stabbing a priest to death in New York City back in 1963.

According to the Post-StandardBurger was 18 when he killed the Rev. Francis McShane, hours after they met at a Yonkers pizzeria in August 1963.

Burger faces 20 years in prison when he's sentenced on January 15.
