SYRACUSE -- Syracuse Police say they arrested a Syracuse man in connection with a stabbing that happened in an apartment at 804 Kirkpatrick Street Friday morning around 12:30 a.m.

Police say 42-year-old Shane DeMoff cut 46-year-old Ronald Byrne across the throat and stabbed him in the abdomen after an argument inside the apartment.

Byrne was taken to Upstate University Hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries.

Police located DeMoff several blocks away shortly after the incident.

DeMoff is charged with second degree assault and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon. He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday morning in Syracuse City Court.
