FABIUS -- The snow is good news for local ski slopes which have gone from green to white in less than a week.
Sam Mir works at Toggenburg Mountain in Fabius. He says last year's warm winter was tough on a lot of people in the local ski industry, but he says with snow already on the slopes and more on the way things are looking up this year.
"We're going to have a pretty good year. The more snow we get the more people we get and with today being the first day we had everyone in the office and put everyone to work," he says.
The snow is also putting people to work at local hardware stores like Nightengale's Tully Lakes Hardware store where snowshovels, and all things having to do with winter were big sellers.
"Glove sales are going up, shovel sales are going up and we're are selling a lot of wood pellets. Everybody is getting ready," he says.
