Syracuse Police investigate homicide on West Onondaga Street

SYRACUSE -- The Syracuse Police Department is investigating a homicide that happened on Monday night at 11:30 PM at 744 West Onondaga Street.

Police say that the victim, identified as 30-year-old David A. Jones Jr. of 141 West Pleasant Avenue in Syracuse, was shot at least once while sitting in an SUV in front of the West Onondaga Street address.

He was transported to Upstate University Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arriving. 

The suspect is being described as a black man, about six feet tall and weighing 200 pounds.

Anyone with information is being asked to call the Syracuse Police Criminal Investigations Division at 315-442-5222.
