Man shot in leg while standing at counter in Syracuse store

SYRACUSE -- The Syracuse Police is investigating a shooting that happened on Monday night at 7:15 PM at the S&R Market on 303 South Avenue.

Police say that 23-year-old Ikeem Vaughn was standing at the counter when the suspect opened the front door of the store at fired several shots at him.  He was struck in the leg and was transported to Upstate University Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a light skinned black man, about five-feet-eight-inches tall with an average build and in his late teens to early twenties.  He was last seen running east on Tallman Avenue.

Anyone with information on this is being asked to call the Syracuse Police Department at 315-442-5222.
