The Ithaca Police Department and the Tompkins County Sheriff's Department are offering free gun locks to residents of Tompkins County.
The gun locks are available to all residents and there's no limit to the number of gun locks a person can request. No ID will be required either.
City of Ithaca residents are asked to pick up gun locks only at the Ithaca Police Department and all other county residents can pick up the gun locks at the Sheriff's Department. Both locations will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
