A new survey finds the cost and financial feeling of being single.

42-percent of single U.S. adults reported they feel more financially strained than their married peers. More than half said they feel they pay more in federal income taxes.

As for household expenses, that's where married folks feel they get the short end of the financial stick. More than six in 10 married U.S. adults agreed their household expenses are more than their single peers.
