MARCY, NY -- A maintenance man from the Marcy Correctional Facility is accused of stealing state gasoline at Midstate Correctional Facility for his personal use.

State Police say 54-year-old Robert Crouse, of Durhamville, stole gas from state gas pumps at the Correctional Facility by placing the gasoline in three five gallon containers from his personal vehicle and taking them to his home. He served as the civilian Plant Superintendent in charge of maintenance in the buildings and on the grounds of the Marcy Correctional Facility.

Crouse is charged with petit larceny and official misconduct. He is scheduled to appear in Marcy Town Court on January 22.

Additional charges may be filed pending further investigation.
