SYRACUSE -- Syracuse Police are investigating a shooting that happened on Friday, January 25th at 10:55pm at 2240 Midland Avenue in Syracuse.

Police say 28-year-old Jamel Works was hit in both legs by pellets from a shotgun blast.

Works could only describe the attacker as being a black male wearing dark clothing. A short time later, police found a .20 gage shotgun hidden behind a home on West Newell Street.

They think this was the gun used to shoot Works in the legs. He was taken to Upstate University Hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.

Anyone with information is asked to call Syracuse Police at (315) 442-5222.
