TOWN OF SALINA -- A Fulton man has been arrested for leaving the scene of an accident after he lost control of his car on 81-North, striking a fence and tree, according to the State Police.

State Police in North Syracuse investigated the car accident that happened around 11 AM on Sunday morning on 81-North in the Town of Salina.

The State Police say that the investigation showed that Jeffrey C. Freeman, 30, of 16 West 11th Street in the City of Fulton was going northbound on Interstate 81 in his 1995 Toyota Corolla when he lost control, exited off the east side of the highway, struck the fence and then the tree.

Freeman exited the car and left the scene before patrols arrived, according to State Police.

Freeman, who is wanted by the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office on a traffic warrant, was located by troopers in Fulton.

Freeman was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and speeding.  He was sent to the Onondaga County Justice Center on $7,500 bail.
