AFTON, CHENANGO COUNTY -- State Police are investigating a deadly accident involving a tractor trailer and a car.
It happened around 1:40 p.m. on Interstate 88 in the Town of Afton in Chenango County.
Police say 31-year-old Noel Pike, of Nineveh, lost control of her 2005 Suzuki XL-7 while getting onto the highway. Her car flew into the passing lane where it was hit by a tractor trailer. Pike was pronounced dead on the scene. Her passengers, 29-year-old Rayne Pike and a 4-year-old child were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The tractor trailer driver, 52-year-old Gary Donovan, of Johnson City, was taken to the hospital in critical condition
