NEW YORK -- The late mayor Ed Koch is getting his own subway station in Manhattan named after him.

Rep. Carolyn Maloney will join officials on Monday to announce the station at East 77th Street and Lexington Avenue will be re-named "Mayor Ed Koch subway station."

Maloney says Koch called it his favorite stop on the subway, where he often campaigned.

Officials have introduced legislation in the Council to rename the subway station in honor of Koch, who died Friday of congestive heart failure at age 88.
