ONEIDA -- Madison County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested an Oneida woman for welfare fraud.

Deputies say 31-year-old Jennifer L. Loukili filled out two public assistance applications and did not list that she was married and living with her husband.

Because of the information provided, Loukili was overpaid $18,952 in public assistance benefits from February 2012 to January 2013, according to deputies.

Loukili was charged with welfare fraud and two counts of offering a false instrument for filing.

If convicted, Loukili could face up to 7 years in prison for the welfare fraud charge and up to 4 years in prison for each of the offering a false instrument or filing charges.

Loukili is being held in Madison County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash/ $5,000 bond.
