SYRACUSE -- Another member of the Bricktown Gang is heading to prison, Syracuse Police say.

27-year-old Darnell Williams pleaded guilty for his role in conspiring to engage in a pattern of racketeering. Williams was sentenced to 150 months, or 12 and half years, in prison.

As part of his plea, Williams admitted that the Bricktown Gang operated in the city from at least the year 2000 to the present. He also admitted that members of the gang have a specific area that they operate in within the City of Syracuse where they would sell drugs like marijuana, crack cocaine and cocaine. The drugs were obtained from suppliers in New York City and elsewhere.

The gang also uses violence to preserve their stature in the gang community, including carrying guns to use in connection with the gang activity, according to police.

The prosecution was based off of a long-term investigation by the Syracuse Gang Violence Task Force, which is made up of agents from several area law enforcement agencies.
