SYRACUSE -- Police arrested 41-year-old Maurice Lockwood of South Geddes Street while they were on their way to respond to a complaint of shots fired on the 200 block of Herriman Street.  Witnesses told police they saw Lockwood and walking away from the scene carrying what they say looked like a shotgun.

Police say Lockwood had shotgun shells on him when they picked him up.

After investigating the scene they found a sawed-off shotgun nearby.  Police arrested Lockwood and he is charged with criminal possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance.

Police say no one was hurt.
