FLOYD, NY (AP) -- A 16-year-old central New York boy has died from injuries suffered when the car he was riding in collided with a cattle truck.

Family members and staff at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse hospital tell local media outlets that Anusha Yagey of Rome died at the hospital after being injured in Tuesday morning's crash on Route 365 in the Oneida County town of Floyd, north of Utica.

Yagey was a student at Holland Patent High School, according to WKTV.

State police say the teen's brother, 17-year-old Joseph Yagey of Rome, was driving the car when he lost control because of slushy conditions, entered the opposite lane and collided with the truck.

Joseph Yagey was treated and released at Rome Memorial Hospital.

The truck driver wasn't injured.
