On this Ash Wednesday, the start of the holy season of Lent for Christians, many received ashes today as reminder of human mortality and a symbol of repentance to God.
The Lenten season runs through Easter. Often, Christians choose to give something up, to make a sacrifice and honor God or perhaps to better yourself.
