FLOYD -- A driver went through a stop sign in the Town of Floyd Wednesday night and hit another car.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, 23 year old Devlin Barnett of the Town of Floyd, failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Old Floyd Road and Rickmeyer Road. He then hit a car driven by 78 year old Jaqueline Cole, also of Floyd.

Barnett and Cole were both taken to the Rome Memorial Hospital. Barnett was issued a traffic ticket for failing to stop at a stop sign. According to deputies, he'll appear in court at a later date.
