Chrysler is recalling nearly 300,000 vehicles due to a problem with a rear axle that could cause a loss of control.

The recall includes Chrysler's full size and midsize pickup trucks, including Ram 1500 pickups from 2009 through 2012 as well as Dodge Dakota pickups from 2009 to 2011 and 2009 Chrysler Aspen and Dodge Durango SUV's.

The truck recall is the result of a missing adhesive patch that could cause the rear axle pinion to come loose, resulting in a loss of vehicle control with little warning.
