ANNSVILLE -- Authorities say a 14-year-old boy is hospitalized with serious injuries after the car he was riding in collided with a county snowplow in central New York.

State police say 61-year-old Monika Cox of Taber was driving on state Route 69 in Annsville around 6 p.m. Tuesday when she lost control of her car and slid into the other lane, where her vehicle collided with an Oneida County snowplow, which was operated by Robert Smith, 45, of Boonville.

Cox had internal injuries and her 18-year-old daughter, of Taberg, sustained broken ankle and wrist. They were treated at a Utica hospital. 17-year-old Taylor Mulvaney, of Camden, was treated for minor injuries at Rome Memorial Hospital. Police say 14-year-old Elijah Tucker of Camden suffered internal trauma, which was considered life threatening and he was transported to Upstate Medical Center for treatment. State police say he was listed in serious but stable condition and was undergoing surgery at last report.

Police say Smith was not injured.

Troopers say his injuries are considered life threatening. He's listed in serious but stable condition Wednesday morning at Upstate Medical Hospital in Syracuse.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
