For most Syracuse fans, getting a great seat to the last Georgetown game in the Dome is a matter of deciding how much they want to pay on Ebay or Stub Hub. For SU student, it is a matter of how long they are willing to sleep on an icy concrete slab.

Student section seating is done on a first come, first seated basis. To get a front row seat for the Georgetown game, some students set up tents a week ago. Typically students work in teams of three or four. One student has to be at their place in line twenty four hours a day. In the past, Carrier Dome staff have done spot checks and removed teams who do not have a student present.

Last year students were allowed to wait inside the Carrier Dome when temperatures dropped below zero. So far this year, students have stayed outside in tents.

On Friday, SU head coach Jim Boeheim and his staff brought donuts and hot coffee to the students camping out. Many of them said the experience was worth it and that they would be willing to camp out again for another big matchup.
