Waterville woman accused of stealing $58,000 from a credit union

WATERVILLE, ONEIDA COUNTY -- A Waterville woman faces felony charges for allegedly stealing $58,000 from the Utica Mutual Insurance Company Federal Credit Union.

New Hartford Police say they arrested Catherine Marriott, 41, on Tuesday of after a month long investigation.

Police say the investigation started after a Utica Mutual Insurance Company Federal Credit Union (UMICO) routine audit where it was discovered that $58,000 had been stolen from the Credit Union.

Marriott is charged with second degree grand larceny, first degree falsifying business records, and four counts of identity theft, all felonies.

Marriott was arraigned in the Town of New Hartford Court and is scheduled to return the Town of New Hartford Court later this week.
