SYRACUSE -- Syracuse Police have arrested a man after a hit and run accident Friday evening.

According to police, they received a call about a hit and run around 5:30 p.m. Friday evening. When they arrived, officers found a 39 year old male with a leg injury from being hit by a Buick Century.

Police say their investigation revealed the victim had been on a bicycle and got into a verbal dispute with 45 year old Preston Fields of Syracuse. Police say the argument had started on Court Street at First North Street. The victim tried to peddle away, but Fields followed him in the Buick.

According to police, Fields chased the victim into a parking lot at 1500 Park Street, where he then hit the victim with his car.

Police say the victim was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital. He was treated for a non life threatening leg injury.

Police found Fields on the 500 block of Second North Street. He is charged with reckless endangerment and several misdemeanors. He'll be arraigned tomorrow in the City of Syracuse Criminal Court.
