ROCHESTER (AP) -- A man accused of murdering an elderly college professor in Rochester had been out of prison for less than a month when the crime happened, and had behaved so badly behind bars that parole officials didn't want to let him go.

Jerrell Henry was arraigned this month on charges that he and an accomplice shot Rochester Institute of Technology professor Edline Chun during a robbery at her Rochester home. The 73-year-old's body was later found in a city park.

The Democrat and Chronicle reports that parole officials decided last June that he should stay locked up for a 2003 carjacking. One board member said his risk of committing another violent felony was "off the charts."

But prison officials said that his sentence required that they release him in December.
