VERONA --

A Canadian man is accused of assaulting another man at Turning Stone Casino in Verona.

It happened around 3:10 a.m. Sunday morning.

State Police say 31-year-old Christopher Heywood, of Ontario, punched a 28-year-old Albany man in the face during a brief argument near the Oneida room on the casino property.

The victim suffered cuts to his face and was bleeding. He was treated at the scene, but refused to go to the hospital.

Heywood is charged with assault. He was arraigned in Verona Town Court and sent to the Oneida County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or bond and is scheduled to reappear in court on Tuesday.
