SYRACUSE -- A Syracuse University senior will announce his campaign for elected office in Syracuse on Saturday March 16. Dan Cowen, who's campaign website describes himself as "a champion for social equality in the region," will make the formal announcement at Schiller Park off Oak Street at 11:00 a.m. Saturday.

Cowen's campaign website  indicates he moved to Central New York in 2009. His website states: "He knows that there are thousands of people in this city whose passions, talents and needs are being underserved. Through innovative programming concentrating on the development and employment of the unique skills of the Syracuse workforce, he envisions a stronger future for Syracuse."  Cowen says he has already been in touch with leaders of the Democrat party in Syracuse - he will run on that ticket.
