ITHACA --

A 17-year-old is accused of shooting a student with a pellet gun at Ithaca High School.

It happened on February 13, but Ithaca police are just releasing the information.

Police say the 17-year-old student was shot with an airsoft pellet gun in the parking lot of the high school. They say a group of students were in the parking lot when one student shot the other in the cheek and back. The injuries were not considered serious.

Police recovered the pellet gun used in the attack. The suspect was arraigned in Ithaca City Court on charges of reckless endangerment, menacing and harassment.

The identities of the suspect and victim are not being released because of their ages.
