SYRACUSE -- A 15-year-old is accused of forcibly stealing another teen’s cell phone on Highland Street in Syracuse.
Syracuse Police say they responded o the 800 block of Highland Street for a reported robbery just after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Police located the victim, who is a 17-year-old woman. She told police that a young man forcefully stole her cell phone from her while she was standing at the intersection of Carbon Street at Butternut Street.
The victim gave officers a description of the suspect and the direction he went after the robbery.
Police say they located the suspect, a 15-year-old male, in the 100 block of Knaul Street.
The suspect was arrested and charged with felony robbery. He was issued an appearance ticket and was turned over to a parent. The suspect will appear in Family Court at a later date to answer the charge.
Police say the victim did not seek medical attention, and her cell phone was not recovered. The name of the suspect is not being released due to his age.
