OSWEGO -- An Oswego man is accused of threatening an officer’s safety after he allegedly indicated to dogs that if the officer shot the dog, he would shoot the officer.

Deputies say Steven Johnson threatened the life of a deputy who was at the home on an unrelated incident.

Deputies say two dogs aggressively approached a deputy in a threatening manner inside the home. Johnson had a gun drawn for protection from the dogs, and while removing the dogs from the room, he reportedly threatened the officer’s safety by indicating to the dog that if the officer put a bullet into the dog, he would put a bullet into the officer.

Johnson is charged with harassment. He was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge before Town of Scriba Court on March 28.
