Three Utica men accused of firing shotgun in a yard

UTICA -- Three men were arrested after allegedly firing a shotgun in a yard in Utica.

Utica Police say they responded to Green Street for a report of multiple shots fired around 2:30 a.m. Monday.

A witness at the scene told officers that they heard several shots fired in the yard of one of the residences.

Police conducted an investigation and learned that three men allegedly fired a shotgun in a yard on Green Street in the direction of Schuyler Street.

Police say they located a shotgun and 10 spent rounds as well as two empty shotgun shell boxes. It is unknown if the men were shooting at someone or something.

Police arrested James Schiess, 23, Billie Jo Shaver, 20, and Kyle Leonard, 31, all of Utica. They are each charged with reckless endangerment. Schiess is additionally charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
