SOLVAY -- Solvay and Camillus police, along with other supporting agencies are on the scene of a situation involving a wanted man who is refusing to leave a home.

Investigators were called to the scene on Conklin Street just before 2:00 p.m. Tuesday.

One media report indicates the wanted man is Joseph Schell of Camillus. He's accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend's home on Warners Road Monday and holding her at gunpoint for several hours.

Solvay Elementary School, only a few blocks away from the scene, was locked down throughout the afternoon along with Solvay Library.

CNYCentral reporter Katie Corrado spoke with a witness on the scene who heard shots fired.
