SYRACUSE -- On Sunday night, Syracuse filmmaker James Domroe released a short online video called 'We Are Syracuse,' highlighting those making contributions within th ecommunity. Within its first day, the video received 2,522 views. As of Monday night, that number had jumped to nearly 6,500.

Domroe hopes the video can convince a younger crowd to move to, or stay in, Syracuse.
"If you have interesting things in a town, like film and music and all these different things, people will come to the town, will live in the town," Domroe said. "People will be happy about where they live. And, hopefully, that's what the video can inspire."
One of the people featured in the video is singer/songwriter and producer Andrew Greacen, who thinks the video can showcase the opportunities available in Syracuse.
"You can create your own business here," said Greacen. "You can make your own film here. You can, you know, be a musician. You can be whatever. There's a lot of things going on here that you may not see."
Domroe hopes it sends that same message. 'If you're good or decent at what you want to do and you put your whole passion into it and you just go about it, I think Syracuse is very receptive to that," said Domroe. "We're looking for people who want to do stuff," says Domroe.
