Update: Watch the surveillance video
SYRACUSE -- Syracuse Police have released surveillance video from an armed robbery.
Officers say a man went into the Court Street Express Mart Tuesday night, pulled a handgun, and tried to make off with cash from the register. He wasn't able to get anything and ran off down Spring Street.
The owner of the store says he has only been in business there for about a month. He says he knows the suspect, and even helped him pay for a soda he couldn't afford recently. The shop owner says he enjoys helping out his northside neighborhood.
The suspect is described as a while male in his 20’s and was last seen wearing a grey sweatshirt, black pants, and a baseball cap.
